YOU CAN ACT TO MAKE THE NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE BECOME LAW IN UTAH

  • Contact NPV Utah to have a speaker come at no cost to answer questions, take comments and help mobilize supporters to make Utah part of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

  • Learn about how the National Popular Vote works and how it's better for Utah and the country as a whole.

  • Help spread the word about the constitutionally legal way to reform the Electoral College and make everyone's vote for president politically relevant no matter where they live.

Write/call your legislator/the Governor

  • The governor must sign or veto legislation within 20 days of passage, or it becomes law without his signature. Start educating him now about how NPV is good for Utah. 38 +15+1= the number of votes required by the House, the Senate and the Governor to pass a bill.

  • Emailing, writing real letters and texting are a great way to communicate with your State legislators. They don't have staff for handling calls, so be succinct, polite, firm and appreciative.

  • For help in getting the inspirational juices flowing, click here to cut and paste sample letters that can be modified for emails, snail-mail or texts. 

  • Then go to www.nationalpopularvote.com and click link on that home page to:

     "Take Action Now – Tell Your Legislators to Pass National Popular Vote"

Send letters to the editors of local papers.

  • Since there is no prohibition on sending letters to both papers at the same time, feel free.

  • Also send as many as you like, they will only publish the ones they judge acceptable, and it would give you some good practice working out your knowledge of the bill.
